Looking for some advice/help

Hi all
I havent been on for some time and i only came on to post this and i will be off again (except to log on to check if anyone replies to this post).

Most of you know me and my situ. I had a D&C 3 wks ago. I saw my dr this past Tues for a follow-up appt. He said all looks well "in there". He did a urine PG test and its still +. They took blood and as of Tues my beta was at 30.

Well......... as of yesterday (Friday) im bleeding. Its light but does require i wear something. Its mainly brown. Dr said its prob not AF bc beta isnt at 0 yet.

I guess i have 2 questions:
1) did anyone experience this or have any ideas?

And 2) when does the pain inside your heart go away. I just cant believe how often i still cry and feel so low and sad. Ive never had a history of depression so this is a tough one for me

Thanks for listening

Re: Looking for some advice/help

I am so sorry you are having such a tough time.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon It's normal to feel this way, and I wish I could tell you when it will go away, but there really isn't a good answer. You will start to feel better as time goes on, but then you will have backslides that come out of nowhere and make you feel like these feelings will never go away.

It's so hard, and I personally don't think it will get better until I am pregnant again and have a healthly pregnancy. Once I got pregnant the second time, I totally forgot about the first m/c- I was just ecstatic and the sadness that had been weighing on me just disappeared.

Since that didn't work out, the depression has definitely returned, but I am trying to keep it at bay by looking forward...sometimes it works, and sometimes I just feel so overwhelmed and crushed by the weight of it. It's hard to talk about it to people, because you don't want to be a downer and make everyone miserable all the time, but at the same time it's always there in the forefront of your mind, and everything else seems so meaningless...

I keep reminding myself that "time heals all wounds." I know this to be true from other life experiences, and its basically all I have left to cling to at this point.

Re: Looking for some advice/help

it may take a little time for the beta to come down - maybe 2 or 3 more weeks.

Chat Icon Chat Icon Sorry about how you are feeling. Everyone is different. The last one took a little more time for the pain in my heart to go away. It will get better, you just need some more time. And it will get better when the beta is gone and you can really feel like it's behind you.

1) haven't had any of those issues, but maybe it's your body cleaning out old blood/ tissue as your beta goes down ?

Glad you asked your doctor though

2) I wanna say 3 months until I wasn't REALLY mad or sad about it.
I'm not mad anymore, just sad once in a while as the time passes since my 1st miscarriage and really how long it has been.

- Just wanted to add that I know this WILL happen for you!!!!
I know you are sad, angry, down in the dumps over this. You probably can't see this happening for you at this point. I know I couldn't at that stage.
But I have faith it will happen.

IMO you really did get smacked with this miscarriage. You were trying for a long time(i believe), finally get pregnant and then this happens.
give yourself time...it will get better. I promise.

I just spotted for about a week after my D&C and it went away.
It's normal to feel what your feeling. It takes some time to actually pull yourself together. It will be hard to forget but you will get through this.

Re: Looking for some advice/help

It took me a few months. I cried on and off, randomly for probably 3 months as PP said. It was the most difficult time in my life (my pregnancy was ectopic, so it ended to save me, not because anything was wrong).

I am sorry you're going through this. I stayed off the boards for awhile too afterwards. Chat Icon
