anyone been to Greece lately?

DH and I wanted to plan a trip to England and Amsterdam in Sept, but then the topic of Greece came up and I thought maybe Greece would be better ... we've never been to either, and don't really know about either.... any suggestions/tips??

Well we were there on our honeymoon in 2006- not exactly recently... and it was on a Med. Cruise- BUT, I do recommend going to Santorini- it has to be the most beautiful place I have ever had the pleasure of visiting! I loved it! Rhodes was fun- great beaches- nice markets- Mykonos was fun too- I was exhausted that day and the weather wasn't so wonderful- but the food was awesome! Athens is a must see- but obviously different than the islands-which I prefer...

(Ps- I was in Amsterdam last February and LOVED IT! It was freezing but we had a great time!)

I haven't been there since our HM in 2005, but Greece was fantastic. We went at the end of September, which was a perfect time to go. The weather was beautiful and it wasn't as crowded. I highly recommend Santorini. We stayed in Oia, which was beautiful. We also went to Rhodes, Crete and Athens. I liked Rhodes a lot. It's not as popular of an island, but it was really nice.
