Re: Is anyone NOT emotional about a loss?

There are so many reasons why my mc hurt so much. Sometimes I do tell myself to snap out of it and get some perspective - there are many many women who have been in much worse situations.

But, in general, I think what is worst about it is the disappointment. While I'm a quite rational person, I'm also a huge day dreamer. DH and I waited a long time to TTC so that we were sure we were ready, financially, emotionally, etc. But I love children and it's something I had been dreaming of for a very long time. I think I tend to mourn the plans we had been making more than anything else.

The number of people around me who have gotten pregnant or have had babies in the meantime (including both of our brothers' wives) is sometimes hard to swallow. And while it was a first tri mc, we had seen a heartbeat. To have gotten to 11 weeks, where you think you're almost out of the woods, and then having to go back to square one, was really difficult to take as well, especially if you don't get a BFP right away afterwards.

Lisa, you know I've had about 7 chemicals at this point. I kind of blow them off at this point. The 2 miscarriages, where they kind of go further than the chemicals, where you have some hope, those hurt a bit more.

But nothing can compare to the loss of my son. I guess losing my son put it all into perspective for me, KWIM? I think its totally different when you get to the point of feeling them move, watching them growing inside of you, and then finally holding that baby in your arms where you feel like, well, the others were just happy thoughts, but I never had a real bond with them.

Re: Is anyone NOT emotional about a loss?

i am extremely emotional from the loss.. i still am.. but i am coming to terms with it all from why it happened , and it wasn't meant to be.. took me awhile to even realize this..

i think since i was far along it hit me harder .

i also think that another reason why i took this loss hard was because of my doctor.. and how horrible he was through it all.. Chat Icon
