Back from Budapest, Vienna and Prague - with Pictures!!!
I am back from our vacation to Budapest, Vienna and Prague and had a fabulous time!! I won’t bore anyone with too many details, but wanted to give a quick review and pictures. Overall, everything went smoothly and I highly recommend going to all 3 cities!! Also, it was a lot of fun to be there during the holiday season . The cities are all decorated and there are outdoor Christmas markets that are a lot of fun to walk through.
I did underestimate how cold it was going to be and should have brought a warmer jacket and boots. However, whenever it got too cold, we just stopped in a café for coffee and a pastry or got a hot wine/cider.
Here are some highlights from each city!
Budapest:
We stayed at the Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal. It was a beautiful hotel and I would definitely recommend it. It is about a 10 minute walk to the Chain Bridge.
As for sight seeing, we walked across the Chain Bridge (over the Danube River) from Pest to Buda. – the Castle Hill/Castle District. We also went to the Labyrinth, which is a series of underground tunnels and caves. In Pest, we went to the House of Terror, which is a memorial/museum that contains exhibits to related to the Nazi and Soviet regimes in Hungary. It’s sad, but definitely worthwhile. One of the nights we were there, we took a dinner cruise on the Danube which was a lot of fun.
Vienna:
We stayed at the K&K and had no complaints. We were only in Vienna one night so we didn’t have that much time so we mainly walked around the city. We went to the Hofburg Palace and the Imperial Treasury which were both interesting.
Prague:
We stayed at a K&K and would recommend it. We climbed to the Astronomical Clock (built in the 15th Century), which was a lot of fun. We walked across the Charles Bridge and went to the Prague Castle. We also spent New Year’s in Prague and watched the fireworks over the Prague Castle at midnight – so much fun!!!!

Nice pics!
I loved the Terror Museum and I went to a party in that castle on the hill. I've been to the other cities, but Budapest was my favourite!
