? about doctor visit - x-post from Pregnancy

I have an appointment today to see my high risk Doctor. The last time I saw him I was 8.5 weeks and he told me to come back in 6 weeks. I'm about 14.5 weeks now...

When I made the appointment with the receptionist, she told me I'd be making two separate appointments - one for each twin. One is 9:15 to 10am and the other is 10 to 10:45 for sonograms. Doctor was already gone so I couldn't ask him about this.

Question: is this my Level 2? I'm not sure what a Level 2 is other than it's a fairly thorough analysis of the baby(s). Judging by the posts on here a level 2 isn't until 18-22 weeks so I'm confused at what they could be doing that is so thorough for me now. I guess I will find out soon enough today. Anyone have any ideas?

Are you high risk? I had identical twins that shared the same placenta and I had a very long sonogram at my 16 week appt (I actually found out the sexes at that one). They did it to check for blood flow issues and growth sonogram.

It could be a growth sonogram, I had to go for monthly appts just to make sure the babies were growing ok.

At the level II they check to see that the baby has 4 valves around the heart as well as other things.

Thanks! It ended up being a sonogram where they checked to make sure their hearts had 4 valves and to check every bone in their bodies and various parts of their anatomy. They spent over an hour on both twins and we did just fine. The radiologist told me to keep up the good work.


Also, yes, I am "high-risk" with identical twins that share a placenta so they were also checking for blood flow. So far so good and I go back in 4 weeks!

OH and PS: The doctor thinks they are "probably" girls but told me we wouldn't be sure for another two weeks.
