My grandmother, 81, had a knee replacement two weeks ago tomorrow at Mt. Sinai. She hated it there and couldn't wait to be transferred to a rehab. center. One week and two days later she was transferred to Parker Jewish Center a LIJ. She has been really happy there, but caught a bacterial infection on her third day there :( She is extremely ill and sounded so bad when I spoke to her last night : (
Does anybody have any positive info. on the possibilities of fighting off a bacterial infection? Thanks!
Granma is in rehab. and walking with her walker! She is SO ready to go home and counting down the seconds. The antibiotics worked to get rid of the infection and she's still swollen, but getting better!
Glad to hear the antibiotics are working. If she is at the rehab in parker she is in a good place. My grandfather is there and they take excellent care of him and he is happy to be there. I hope she has a quick and speedy recovery.
My grandma had stage 3 ovarian cancer. She had the surgery and a week later got the worst infection possible the doctors said. It could have killed her. She made it through. It took awhile but it can happen. I hope your grandmother gets better soon.
