Online Degree

Has anyone ever recieved a degree from one of those online school's? I have an associates and I'm licensed as a registered nurse. I take classes at St. Joseph's College and I hope to finish in 5-7 years. But with one of these school's I'm looking into I'd finish in about 2 years and I wouldn't have to go to class, it's all online. Is this too good to be true? They are accredited with Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

If it's accredited then it's not too good to be true!! I got my Masters online. A lot of schools are moving in this direction now and it's becoming much more common.

I am working on my degree through Empire State College's Center for Distance Learning. It's an accredited college through SUNY's system.

I find it harder then going to classes - I recall that you got key information from the lectures with the text to support that and for reference. With online courses you are mostly working with the text by your self. The teachers are available for assistance and guidance but I feel like it is more self directed. You can't beat the convenience of doing school work in your pjs at 11:00pm.

I'm a Professor and teach online. The degrees are legit, but any school in this area should be accreditted by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. They all claim to be accreditted, but there are different accreditting bodies with different standards.

Thank you. I've decided to stay with my school and continue on the same path. I know this school has a good reputation and it will be beneficial to be able to talk face to face with professors. Thank you for your input it was appreciated.
