Yes, another complaint about my OBGYN!
So she refers me to an infertility specialits...Dr Rosenberg. She gives me his #.. I call him to make an appointment. He is a NOT an infertility specialist!!
I call my dr. at 9:15...then again at 3:30...no one calls me back. they say they have to call 411 and get the correct info!! WHAT?!?!!?
Then I ask if I can see someone else on my own, they tell me no, they have to ask my OBGYN if that is OK. They said they will call me back.
It's now 4:45 and my OBGYN is GONE for the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel like ALL i do is complain, I'm sorry. I needed to vent.

My hoenst advice to you,
find someone on YOUR insurance! Why can it be ONLY someone your OBGYN recommends?
Souns like a load of crappp to me.

My insurance is great and I can see any dr at any time without a referral...so I think I'm going to go out on my own and use references I got on LIF and find someone because if I wait around for her I'll apparently never get help!

Ugh Kathy, I swear you are just having a day from hell aren't you  I'm sorry!!!!
I think you should find your own specialist and do not worry about getting a referral from your OBGYN... I cannot believe that office gave you the name of a doctor that isn't even a SPECIALIST 
The RE that my GYNO referred me to (to treat my endometriosis) well I was NOT too thrilled with him at all (NO bedside manner and very bad office hours, etc) SO I am already prepared that if I do have to go the RE route in the future, I am going to go by other recommendations too!
 and vent anytime - that's what we're here for

Well I think your Dr did all she could for you, but she does have a serious issue with calling you back and that stinks!
ARE you sure that when you get PG you will want to deal with this? Imagine your in LABOR and they dont call you back? LOL

Sometimes I often think the fact that I am sooo darned nice when I call my doctor, this is the reason they ignore me.. as if you need to be a beoooytch in order to get a call back

I didn't bring it up because I had a feeling she was going to go over it all with me when I went on Tues - and she did. She was very good and took a lot of time with me. I really love my dr. but I think its her office that rots.

I even called last night at 10pm and left a strongly worded message and said I needed this info ASAP....still nothing.
Im going to call and make an appt with the NY Rep Serv that people recommended - the one in Mineola. I know I dont need a referral from my OBGYN bc my coverage is like that- I just wanted to get her OK and also talk to the guy she is recommending. But her receptionist gave me the name of a doctor who is an anesthesiologist!!!!!!! Idiots!!!

Is there a PA or head nurse that you can call? At the office I go to, it is either the PA or the Dr that I speak to. The PA is always available to take calls because her job isn't to see patients with the Dr but to review all the tests, answer med questions, prescriptions, etc...

Yes that's who I usually speak to. I dont even need her, I just need the receptionist to give me the correct doctor and his # so I can call.
It's like pulling teeth, I swear.

That's exactly what I said when I called - that I need the name of the dr...they said "i have to call 411 and will call yu back"
