running groups

Does anyone run with a group. I am thinking about joining one. I live in Nassau county so am debating joining one near my house. If you do belong to a club has it helped your running? Do you enjoy it more?

I think it will help me stay motivated and push me when I slow down.

When I was LI I did the summer series (5k races) with LIRRC. Everyone was very friendly. I never went to any of the training runs however.

I run with a group for my long Saturday runs. I made a small group of friends that I run with at each run. We are all about the same pace and have decided to run an upcoming marathon together. Running with the group makes the time go SOOO much faster and it's so much more fun...especially when you are out there for 2+ hours..you need some good conversation to get through it!

Definitely join a group...I prefer running with them way more then on my own!

My entire family pretty much runs...so I guess we are like a group! I love it. For me it's so much harder to run alone and if I didn't have them I would def look into a running club.

I live in Smithtown so if you ever want to run with my "group" you're totally welcome!
