Hematologist Recommendations in western Suffolk

My primary doctor wants me to see a hematologist due to elevated platelets in multiple blood tests.

Any recommendations?

I saw a hematologist for the same exact reason, starting several years ago. Turns out the problem was a combination of 2 things - a very low ferritin (stored iron) level, and the fact that I just have high platelets! Always have....so does my Dad.

I saw both Drs Akhund and Ahmed in Huntington Medical Group on several different occasions and was very happy with them.

Dr. Wadie Bahou, Chief of Hematology at Stony Brook (I think he is still??). I went straight to him when I had clotting problems b/c he had saved the life of one of my clients.
