Hmmmm....I generally just go to Food Network.com and browse. But I like Rachel Rey's books...bc she makes fun yummy things pretty easily.
Also Barefoot Contessa has a nice new book out that has classic meals, simply made

Re: Recommend your COOK Books
Geez, I've got about two hundred cook books I've collected over the years.
The ones I go to most often : Julia Child's "The Way to Cook" "NY Times Cookbook" Marcella Hazan's "Essentials of Classic Italian Cooking" anything by Jaques Pepin

Re: Recommend your COOK Books
MIL got me The Busy Mom's Slow Cooker Cookbook (even though I'm not a mom lol) but it's great because DH and I have crazy work schedules so it's perfect. Lots of great recipes in it that are very healthy. It also lists the nutritional info too. I also have the WW cookbook. I haven't used it much, but it has a lot of great recipes.
And of course my fave, Bartending for Dummies!

Re: Recommend your COOK Books
I gravitate towards the Good Houskeeping ones.
Great Baking- it has EVERY type of desert from apple pie to puff pastry and croissants. I LOVE this one and use it so much that the pages are coming unbound.
Desserts- sme of the same stuff plus some fancier stuff
The Good Housekeeping Cookbook- it's the big yellow one w/ a bunch of food and some deserts..pancakes..waffles, etc.
The Cake Bible- I have yet to make something from this book, but I liked the name so I bought it haha

Me too. I like allrecipes.com, because people who have made the dish before go on and rate it, so you kind of have an idea after reading the reviews if it'll be good or not, and they offer ideas of what they might change about the recipe, ie add more this, omit that, cook it for less time, serve it with this, etc.
