Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.......
New?
Nothing particular...
Just the usual...
She has managed to schedule them a million and one extra curricular activities. All of which interfere with DHs visitation...But she doesnt do it on purpose. Honest she really doesnt.

Re: Sooo, what's new, SM's???
Your funny, I was meaning to do the same post yesterday and forgot...I was getting sad for our lonely little board ...
No set visit yet, DH has been making innuendos to her about how the next time we go to Chuckee Cheese she has to come chase her brother through the tunnels because he's getting too old etc....and she seems to be responding positively...The past few weekends she has had stuff going on , sleepovers, her older sisters birthday etc. so DH didnt ask...I think he's hoping that this weekend shes free , we really want to see her and her and her brother and sister really needs to get to know eachother ... My DD's christening is next week , we talked about the idea of asking her to come (had she met her first so that it wouldnt be the 1st time) and its here and she still hasnt met her yet...My DH is afraid of the BM coming and causing a scene and I understand his fear, but in the same token , I feel like she's terrorizing him anyway by him being fearful so whats the difference...
I'll keep you all posted, we are taking it slow I think because we are afraid of rejection and that if shes not ready it will ruin the progress we have made.. My DH said there were a few times on the phone that it sounded like my SD wanted to ask to come in a round-a-bout way but didnt for whatever reason...Her mother has an incredible hold over her, always has.
As far as anything else, the only new thing is that we are nearing April and we still havent received March receipts from BM yet ...We always think she up to something when she isnt asking for anything !...DH has a letter already typed to be mailed on 4/1 asking for receipts if she has any, in case shes trying to play games...to be continued ...

Re: Sooo, what's new, SM's???
Hi! It's been awhile for me here. My aggravation has now changed to my SD.
She's a pre-teen so she's developing an attitude which is making me insane. She is so nasty and moody all of the time to everyone. Now I totally understand when my mom used to say to me "Ugh! You make me wanna smack you!" LOL Oh the joys of being a girl!
Battle of the week: she is a total slob to the point its unsanitary. It's one thing to be messy and have clutter but it's entirely different when its garbage in her room...candy wrappers, apple cores, banana peels, half empty glasses of milk, etc. Gross!
Now she's mad at me b/c she is only allowed to eat/drink in the kitchen. She ignored me when I asked her like 100x to throw her garbage out (this has been going on since at least Halloween) and now that we are approaching bug season, I'm not taking chances. I told her that it's not something I should have asked her to do anyway b/c normal people throw garbage IN THE GARBAGE. The last I heard was that the bedroom floor was not a compost site.
I don't hassle her to clean her room, put her clothes away, put her toys away, etc. I don't think it's too much to ask to bring a glass to the sink and garbage to the can.

Nothing new on my end either.
Dh is slowly trying to patch things up with SD and undo the damage that BM has done...it is a long and slow process.
Bops, that is great that you are taking baby steps...hopefully SD gets to meet DD soon!

Re: Sooo, what's new, SM's???
Hi ladies, I'm happy to see some action on this board today!!
Bops, I would definitely invite your step-daughter to your DD's christening; I'm sure she wants to feel like a part of the family and she's probably unsure of how to ask if she can come, ykwim.
As for us, we normally have DD every weekend but this is one of those rare weekends where she's staying with her mom. It's kind of sad since the house is quiet when she's not there and I know DH misses her, but it's also really nice to be alone for a whole weekend.

Re: Sooo, what's new, SM's???
We put my SS on medicine for ADHD and he hasnt had no incidents in school for three weeks and the teacher said he has had the best week since the school started. She is seeing improvements in his focusing. We are reallu excited with the progress - it has been a long uphill battle

I agree with you...I keep telling my DH that the more and more time that passes the more awkward this is going to become....He is so afraid to do the wrong thing in fear of BM sabotaging it all over again I think, but I wish he would try to get past that ( he feels beaten down I guess for lack of better words)...I told him to at least mention it to her and see what vibe he gets from her, but I also think it will be very uncomfortable for SD if the 1st time she is seeing us again is for a large family event like this , so thats why I was hoping for some type of visit first, but now time is ticking....
BM had a real issue with my DS's christening ( she went so far as to bring it up to the judge) saying that my DH threw him an ellaborate party blah blah blah...Ofcourse the judge interrupted her and said she didnt want to hear it - but I'm sure my DH has that whole scenario in his head still...Errrrrr...If it were entirely up to me, things would be approached must differently, but unfortunately they're not, I can only advise and hope the advice I am giving him, helps the situation instead of hurting it KWIM ??
Sorry to hi-jack the post - LOL !

Re: Sooo, what's new, SM's???
I dont think I ever officially joined this board - and didn't want to bump a very old post but I am Nicole - Getting married to FH in 8 days and will be getting my very own SD in 8 days as well. I posted our family photos about a week or two ago - we have our bumps in the road with SD and BM but for the most part things are typically good more than they are bad. I hope to connect and be able to share with you ladies, it seems that many of us are on the same page with BM issues (visitation, $$, drama drama drama - thats whats in our case) - I hope to learn alot from you all

Re: Sooo, what's new, SM's???
Hello Ladies!
SS's GF "DUMPED" him for another guy. He's 17 and going through his first heart-break which is difficult for us to watch.
While it was a blessing the two were together (she kept him out of trouble), she was a total ******!
