Can I Vent Please?
Just someone tell me that I will have a house by the end of this year and that DH and I will host Christmas Eve just like we've always wanted to and everything will be perfect 
I am on day 69 of waiting for a short sale - I can't believe the amount of stress I have been having over this house - we both want it so badly, the thought of not getting it makes my heart ache......We keep looking for other houses but nothing  I'm preparing myself that we won't get it just in case and I keep looking in the meantime but I am so frustrated b/c there is nothing else out there....

unfortunately these things take time....
we are in contract and have been waiting for our mortgage approval....
uh...hello....just give us the money already....so i feel you frustration
anyway...i think you will here something soon and i wish you luck!!!!!
ps just be patient bc worrying will give you wrinkles...just trying to make you laugh
to  gods for all of us waiting

We have been half doing the "Short Sale" thing since NOVEMBER!!!!!!!!!!  It has been taking forever but April 15th is the cutoff date for the deal to be a YES or NO! We're in contract with the owners, have our mortgage commitment, title, appraisal...everything. The process is SLOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
Good Luck to you! Try posting on the Home Board, they're very helpful over there and lots of Info.

yeah but nobody on the home board gives a crap about me and my whining PLUS newlyweds usually either just bought or are in the process of buying a house so i technically i think my venting can be considered "newlywed related" - of course that is until someone reports it!

We've been in contract since December and the house is not a short sale, so I feel your pain and then some. We were a week from closing and the garage burnt down! And now the underwriters are so backed up and everything is taking forever.
This process s u c k s, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end. I can totally relate to the stress of being in limbo and waiting for your home. Good luck!!! Hang in there.

Unfortunately, you could be waiting quite a bit longer. That's the nature of a short sale. Just think of the amazing deal you are getting and when you are in the house you will be SO much happier that you went through with it.

i know, and we haven't hit 90 days yet so it hasn't been THAT long considering it is a short sale but i know people who got responses from the bank quicker than us and that is killing me - seeing other people get an acceptance and closing date while we continue to wait.......in the beginning it wasn't so bad but we are so ready to get out of NY - i'll be so disappointed if the bank doesn't approve the sale

I can relate - we went through a nightmare to get into our house (not a short sale, but the seller died a week before closing) and they kept telling us we would close "before Thanksgiving" then "before Christmas" then "before New Year's" -- but ultimately we closed March 3rd.
Hang in there. It was definitely not fun at the time (or living among the packed boxes in our apartment) and it certainly made me sad around Christmas.
However, it was all worth it in the end!! We are very happy in our house.
