Can I vent? Can I? Huh? Please. Right, I am going to vent. Now. Here. Yes. Now.
So this is all to do with sleeping. The kid goes to sleep fine. Has a lovely bath, you say to him "put your bum in that nappy" he sits down on his diaper, he laughs, we play, we count with his Moomintroll while he has his inhalers. Its all good.
But. But. But. He keeps waking up. Every night. We have probably had 14 nights uninterruped sleep since September. Thats gods honest truth. He wakes up for an hour, I try to let him CIO, but he calls us "Mummy" "Daddy" "Mummy or Daddy" Ugh. I am exhausted.
I JUST WANT TO SLEEP. ALL NIGHT. FOR A LONG TIME. PLEASE KID. SLEEP. I WANT YOU TO SLEEP.
zzzzzzzz

Are you giving him inhalers for breathing? That might be why he can't sleep well.

He has Asthma, they are prescribed at night. He has had them for months. He sleeps but then wakes up for comforting. He has a blue and a brown inhaler...shouldn't be a problem with sleeping. I can ask the Asthma nurse next time she comes to see me.

Asthma runs in my family. My brother has had it since he was very young. I always remember the meds making him very alert. I don't know if that is the case with all asthma meds.

We have to give Sydney nebulizer treatments every once and a while and they make her hyper - I would ask about the asthma meds and whether there are side effects like restlessness....or it could just be the age - Sydney also has been going to be no problem but wakes up in the middle of the night on average 3 night/week.

Really! I am going to call my Asthma nurse and ask her that. But maybe tonight I will give him his inhalers right after dinner tonight instead of right before bedtime.
Thanks everyone!

I hope it gets better. And you finally get good, uninterupted sleep very soon.

I wish I had some advice - but my twins are doing the same thing - I don't understand why all of a sudden they decided they don't want to sleep anymore.

Ugh, I hope it's a phase that he gets out of soon. We've been going through that a little bit here, Alex will wake up when I'm in a DEAD sleep, want me to give her a little snuggle in the middle of the night, but luckily she's been going back down rather quickly (knock on wood ). But she sometimes does this 3x a night. These toddlers!!!
