can I possibly get away with it by having this on the phone?????????????????I mean we dont see each other every day due to work and living an hour away...
It would be easier to do it over the phone, but better to do it face to face. I would just casually say, "are you seeing anyone else?" and see where it goes from there. I know it's a hard thing to do.
Of course, I don't follow my own advice. When I first met DH we lived 3 hours apart and I went through the same thing. He was a cop too, so I took great comfort in knowing that he was pretty busy and didn't have too much time to date. I never came right out and asked him where I stood. I just made jokes saying "do you have a hot date tonight" eventually he would say "no, you are the only one". I know, It was the wimpy way to do it. I hope it all works out for you!

I don't really have any different advice. With DH, I just casually mentioned (after dating 6 months)...are you seeing anyone else? Maybe we should just see one another exclusively...even though we already were! Good luck...enjoy all these jittery moments!
