Vasovagal Syncope
Are there any nurses or Doctors on this board? My husband has this condition. He has not had an episode for a year and a half. Today, while we were at the gym and he was doing the chest press machine he said he felt ligh headed and began to faint. I had to call out for help for people to help hold him up from falling over. EMS was called. AFter 10 - 15 minutes he came to. When he was alert, he declined going to the ER. He has had this condition since he was a teenager, he's been to cardiologists and they say it's common. It was a very scary morning for me. Now he is lying down taking a nap. Does anyone have a good cardiologist that you can refer me to? I still would like him to get checked out anyway..

I don't have any referrals, but I just wanted to let you know that my sister also has this. She's had it her whole life. She used to just pass out at home and scare the crap out of everyone. She would come to and would be fine. She got checked out by tons of doctors and she was otherwise healthy. She hasn't had an episode in a while, but certain situations seem to trigger them for her (going to the dentist is the main one).
Just wanted to let you know there are others out there with it!
