I posted a question on the relationship board a few weeks ago about a friend of mine who is very sick with a horrible form of cancer. My friend is not doing well right now and he really needs some prayers. This is a very close friend. In addition, we have several friends in common and I pray that we all have the ability to do right by our friend. Our hearts are with him and we hope he knows that. This is a friend that I have spent many summers with and I wish he could be well to just enjoy this summer. There is a lot more I can say about my friend as a person and there is a lot more I can say about this horrible illness but what really matters is that a great person needs prayers right now.
I was feeling a bit down earlier today and I asked myself, "Why did this happen to my friend? How come so and so has never had a friend who was sick?" The answer I came up with was that "so and so" has never had a friend at all, period. I really hate what is happening but I have to remember that I've been blessed with great friends and we are there for each other. My friend is still not doing great but I did get to see him in the hospital a few days ago and I hope to go again as soon as he is up to seeing visitors again. He just had surgery so I am not sure when that will be.
