Ha ha ha, yeah RIGHT!!!
So I've never been to a MLB game. Ducks games, yes. So I thought for my DH's b-day, we could go to a Mets Game since we live.this.close to Citi field. So I go online and find tickets. $450 EACH! Over $900 for a Saturday night game!  Um, yeah, we could go on vacation for that! Who is smoking the good stuff???

Tickets are cheaper there.
If you wait till the day of...(since you live so close) you can get tickets 50% off or more. A lot of season tickert holders will put their tickets for sales for the games they are not going to. From about 3-5pm the day of a game they start heavily discounting so they can just get rid of the tickets. There are always a ton of tickets available.
We live in the city on the UES- yankee fans though. Since we are so close to the stadium we will just buy tickets the day of a few hours before and get amazing seats for cheap.

It's because they have to pay their players millions of dollars a year to suck!

the cheap seats are 28.
The great thing about Citi Field is the whole back area... You can buy the cheap seats (day of they're like 3-10 bucks) and pretty much watch the game from anywhere... Beer isn't terribly expensive either (considering NYC prices)
but yeah, the GOOD seats will cost you a lot.

Thanks for the ideas. And yeah...they do need to charge a fortune to pay the players ludicrous amounts of money to suck!

We get tickets in the upper deck for $20-$30 each game and the view is great.
If you want to sit down on the field, yeah you're going to pay the premium prices.
But honestly, all you have to do is get a ticket to get in the stadium and you could watch the entire game from the field level anyway from multiple vantage points (you won't have a seat, but its still enjoyable).
