At what point after a D&C .....
would a HPT be negative on a digital? I have not taken one but Im over 5 weeks past my d&c and have not gotten AF yet. If I did take one today, is it still likely I could get a + from leftover hCG? Is it possible the levels could still even be that high??
Im trying to hold out until the end of the month before I do anything. Just curious to see what people say on this.

i never had a D&C , but i wouldn't think you would have any leftover HCG left.. lots of time has been passed.
did you have to keep going in to get beta checks to make sure it went to 0?

No. Actually, they never even took bloodwork post d&c. I went for my post op appt like 3 weeks after the d&c, she did an internal and a sono and said everything looked good.
Im trying not to get my hopes up. Im afraid if I take the test and its positive Im not going to know if its new or old but if I take it and its negative, Im going to be nervous and wondering why I havent gotten AF yet. Maybe I should wait a little longer and see what happens. I told myself I wouldnt do this until the end of the month  I have no patience.

They didn't do BW after my D & C either. The end of the month is a LONG time away. Knowing myself, I would prob. test at 6w1d after procedure. I've heard it could take 406 weeks on an average to get AF. That's just me. I can barely survive this 2 WW nevermind till the end of Sept.  Good luck sweetie!

my doc told me 6-8 weeks for AF...personally I think he gave me higher numbers so I wouldn't worry if I didn't get it.....I would try to wait to test. Personally..I would love to be pg and not even know it for a while so my head doesn't freak out again..lol
I'm kind of in the same boat as you b/c I have no idea if AF should come after I took the meds or after D&C..lol it's 7 weeks after meds and 2 weeks after D&C...plus I don't even know if I got AF! lol During that time I thought I had it 2 times! lol
This really messes with you huh?

I know we literally just spoke about this yesterday and how waiting is the best thing to do but this is really getting the best of me. I feel like I should have gotten AF already.  I have to wait until the end of the month. I did some research and basically any HPT may still produce a false positive for up to 9 weeks after a miscarriage (not sure if that includes d&c) If i wait until 9/28 like I said, that will be 9 weeks and if still no AF and + HPT then its more likely its a new pregnancy.
I have to stop. Seriously, I cant do this to myself. Even if I take it today and it is a new pregnancy, I cant be that far along and i dont want to go through multipple dr appts and sonos and waiting and hoping and ughh...ok I officially talked myself out of it.

I considered this because next Tuesday will be 6 weeks and it also happens to be my 3rd wedding anniversary. But knowing me Ill take the test, it will be + and I will ruin our anniversary trying to get in and see my doctor

I know it's hard Lisa. But maybe try to at least hold out until next week when it will be a full 6 weeks, if you don't have AF by then of course. I don't think your levels would still be showing anything bc I think enough time has passed for the m to go back down to zero. All this not knowing is really messing with all of us!

Like you said if you find out early you go to the doctoor early and have to go through all that sono stuff again and wait a week this and wait a week that....try to hold out if you can! I can imagine how hard it is!

i started getting BFN about 4wks after the D&C, everyone's body is different but if you do have any left it might still be too low of a number to register on a HPT. 5 wks with AF is normal, it can talk some women up to 12 weeks to see her again. Just think of the 2 weeks after your D&C as null so really it's only been like 3 weeks of a cycle, at least that's how it worked for me but again everyone is different. Hang in there!

It took me about 3 weeks to test negative and exactly 4 weeks I got AF. My doctor told me it could take anywhere between 4-12 weeks to get it. I know it's frustrating but just try to hang in there.
