Teacher Assisant Jobs
How does go about finding employment for a TA? I do have TA certificaton. Are these jobs hard to get too?
I have considered a career in teaching and have been told by some to consider this avenue instead.

Re: Teacher Assisant Jobs
in my district, TA jobs are not hard to get. tenured teaching positions in my district are hard to get, but not TA's as there is very high turnover. many TAs on LI are actually certified teachers so some only stay as TAs until they get their own class in the district or get a job elsewhere. in my district, there are tons of TA posisitons that open up every year because of the high turnover.
the process would be similar as fnding a teaching job. look in the nytimes, olasjobs.org, ask on here, look at district websites, etc. Also, often TA positions are posted AFTER the school year begins or in the summer when they realize they need a TA to support a teacher who has a lot of special ed. students or after they finalize IEPs (student gets a 1:1 or small group ratio TA).
GOOD LUCK!
