I have an interview on Monday
It's for a 4th grade leave replacement from now until the end of the year...and at great school district (in CT). I have only taught K, 1 and 3. I never really wanted to be with the "older" kids...I am scared!
I have only interviewed for K and reading positions lately...is there anything different they might ask me re: fourth grade? I know they take the CMT's (the connecticut state test) in March, will they ask me about test prep or anything? I know nothing. LOL.
Wish me luck, so far I have gotten beat out by a new grad (less pay) at all three interviews this year.

I don't work in CT, but I am sure they are going to ask questions about test prep. I would make sure to tell them that you integrate "test prep" into guided reading, by teaching the skills and strategies using books.

Good luck! you'll do great! and honestly, if you've taught 3rd...you'll know right where they are at this point in the year (they're still 3rd graders basically!  and then you'll just go on from there. keep up posted! :)

Can you find out what reading program they participate in? Having some knowledge of Fountas and Pinnell or whichever they use might be key over other applicants.
I would also look over the topics on the test to have an understanding of it. but i know my SD takes the "not teach to the test" attitude.
