Photoshop question

Anyone know how can I make the rectangle shape below? With the edges sort of scalloped like that.

Thanks!

Re: Photoshop question

I would make the white rectangle and then make a row of dots in the same color as your background and place it in such a way that it looks like cut-outs. Make one dot, and then duplicate layer and move the new layer a smidge to the side. Then, merge those layers together, and duplicate again. Repeat this process until you have enough going across. Then, duplicate the whole thing, and move the new layer down to the bottom of the rectangle. Then, repeat for the sides.

Does that make sense?

Re: Photoshop question

I agree with the red dot idea but there is an easier way rather than continuously duplicating. I don't remember exactly, but it has to do with using the brush tool, selecting the size and spacing and then holding the shift button and dragging the mouse. As I said, I don't remember the exact process, but it's along those lines.

Re: Photoshop question

Okay, I'm doing it now. After you have created your background and then the white-ish rectangle, create a new layer for the dots. click the brush tool and go into the brush tool box. Under brush presets, choose the size that you want. Then go underneath that and go to brush tip shape. There you'll see the spacing slider bar. Move that until you have the amount of space you want. Then go back to the image, press down the mouse, THEN hold SHIFT AND ALT as you move the mouse across. This will help you space the dots uniformly AND keep them level.

I am trying to do this and failing miserably. I can't seem to find the "spacing slider bar" which I think is probably key to doing this. Chat Icon
