PhotoShop question...
How do you make the pic. black and white, with only one part color (bouquet, pumpkin, etc.)? I have tons of pics. I'd like to experiment on.

Re: PhotoShop question...
You highlight the items you want to keep in color, invert the selection & desaturate. If you need more info on it - FM me.

Re: PhotoShop question...
The way I do it is with the magic wand. I select the area that I want to be in color, then cut it out of the picture and paste it into a new window. Then I go back to the original picture, change it to grayscale and then go back to the cut out colored piece and add it back in. There's another way to do it that I think is a little easier but I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Image Attachment(s):

Re: PhotoShop question...
I copied the picture on top and then erased the section I wanted in color.
ETA - I forgot to add that after I copy the picture I turn the saturation all the way down so it's in B & W THEN I erase to get the color underneath.

Re: PhotoShop question...
That sounds too hard - try my way - it only takes less than a minute. use the magnetic select option.

I think...That if you hold, it's either the ALT or CTRL button and select another area, you can do more then one at once. I don't have Photoshop here at work but I seem to remember it being somthing like that.

Get at minimum version 7.
To do what you want to do.... its real simple. You take the original color picture. Then make a copy of the original picture as a new layer and place it on top of the original picture. Make the copy thats on the upper lawyer 2 black and white using the greyscale tool. Then just use the erase tool on layer 2 to erase the parts that you want in color and you will see it work right before your eyes.
Takes me about 10 mins to do this. 20 if I want to be precise.

Re: PhotoShop question...
Here is an example of how I designed a page of my album.
Notice I did the bouquet in color... PLUS the bouquet ribbon (which you can barely tell is a light gold color).

Re: PhotoShop question...
Seems like that guy is selling a copy of the software. I wonder where he got it from.
It would definitely work though... i wouldn't pay too much for it though since its not an original copy.

Re: PhotoShop question...
I have Photoshop Elements 3.0 and was hoping to do all of this neat stuff with my photos. I consider myself computer and software literate, but I cannot figure this out for the life of me! Not even how do the layers like you describe here, I wish there was an online class or something....
