Advice- Entertaining Newborns

The girls are sleeping less and awake more now and I dont know how to keep them both entertained at the same time WITH A 2 YR old to boot Chat Icon

Chloe like sthe swing, the mobile int he crib and sometimes the bouncy seat so I can usually get her occupied, but Sydney wants t just be held and spoken to....and while I would love to..I simply cannot do it.

I dont knwo what to do with them.

I feel horrible b/c I feed them and sometimes stick them back in the pack and play or crib and just let them lay there till they fall back asleep, sticking pacifiers in their mouths...b/c Noah needs to eat or something.

I feel so bad b/c then they hear my vocie and get so excited. Chat Icon

Will it get easier once they can sit up etc ( like in excersaucers? )..

I feel like I neglect them Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Advice- Entertaining Newborns

Don't feel bad.. I know it must be hard for you.. but I am sure you are doing a great job.. They are still so young and putting them in the swing or bouncy seat is good.. I used to bring the seats with me in the kitchen so i could talk to them or they could watch me clean dishes.. but at this stage there isn't much to do with them.

Hang in there.. i know you have a lot going on but just try not to be so hard on yourself. They are safe, loved and well taken care of.. you are doing a great job!

Re: Advice- Entertaining Newborns

I've always heard you should pay more attention to your older one since they will remember this time. The girls won't. My kids slept alot. They need to sleep alot the first few months to help them grow. Have you tried a sling? You could put her in a sling and be hands free-once she is relaxed if her sister wakes up switch them out. The Moby will supposedly let you hold both at once, but my guys were too big for that.

I just told my friend this morning that i felt bad b/c of the same thing. I have Dom my total undivided attention when he was a newborn and now I feel like I put the babies down so much b/c I just have too much other stuff to do - mainly with DS. I feel bad about it thoughChat Icon

Re: Advice- Entertaining Newborns

mine used to like laying on the play mat and staring up at the stuff above them.

they also liked laying in the crib and staring at the FP aquarium and the mobile.

I cant laythem on the play mat right now, b/c my son thinks its cute to lay on it as well and roll on top of them, again and again, so only when he is asleep can I use that..lol( buying them one with sides for X mas! )

Thanks guys...I just feel badly that when they are awake I cannot attend to both at once and Noah....who really is at a hard age.
