Just found out that I have PCOS!! I always had a feeling that I had it.
Just want to know if anyone else has it. How did you find out you had it??

Re: PCOS
I found out when I went to my gyn, I always knew something was wrong when AF was always not there for months at a time, now i'm on metaformin to help regulate AF.

Re: PCOS
I found out I had it when I went off BCP and had two normals periods and then nothing. Blood work confirmed it. I'm on metformin now.

Re: PCOS
My periods were always irregular. i was on the pill for many years then got very sick from it.
I was on a high dose of prednisone for seven months(for something else). Now I get regular periods. i am guessing that was what regulated it.

Re: PCOS
Prednisone is a steriod - I'm not sure it is possible to have had any impact in regulating your AF.
If you have PCOS, the bleeding you experience and believe to be your AF, may actually be what is known as annovulatory bleeding...meaning, there is no egg being released from your ovary each month...yet, you still bleed.
I know more than I care to about this subject b/c I too, have PCOS and have experienced bleeding without ovulation. FM me if you have more questions.
