Those that did a DNA test on their twins
Where did you get it from. How much do they cost? I was told my twins were identical and I'd like to know for sure.

Re: Those that did a DNA test on their twins
I haven't done it since my boys don't really look alike (even though we were told before they were born that they are probably identical). I found it online for $150...just google twin dna test.

Re: Those that did a DNA test on their twins
I know you can find a quick DNA test online with a buccal swab (cheek skin cell)
From what Im reading it's a lot cheaper than going to your doctor or geneticist to have it done....
I just wanted to add that from what I remember. Identicals look the most different from newborns-6months of age.....

Re: Those that did a DNA test on their twins
I used proactivegenetics.com They were $150 (I think) the only thing that had me question it was this comment on the email & letter
We first isolated DNA from cheek cells from the swab kits that were returned to our lab. We amplified the DNA using a technique called PCR. Next, we analyzed 7-8 standard DNA markers (D5S818, D13S317, D7S820, D16S539, vWA, TH01, TPOX, and CSF1PO) and determined that the highly variable DNA markers were the same for both twins. Thus, there is greater than a 99% probability that the twins are monozygotic.
As stated in our testing Terms and Conditions, these test results are not qualified for any medical or legal purpose. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about these test results.
ETA:Though just yesterday i was looking at my girls (who are 4) & thinking no they are not identical. Who knows. LOL
