When you found out you had fertility issues

did you switch your OBGYN or do you just only deal with you RE now?

Re: When you found out you had fertility issues

After my HSG showed that I have blocked tubes, I was referred to RE. My OB doesn't repair them. And I have fibroids. I just moved so it was my second visit with my OBGYN. I wasn't with her long.

After I get pregnant, I will go back to my OBGYN.

Re: When you found out you had fertility issues

I stayed with an OBGYN initially, since he practically guaranteed me that Clomid would get us pregnant.

After 4 cycles and no additional suggestions or answers (or calls back, but that's a whole other issue), I went to an RE.

Only deal with my RE. RE's tend to see you until week 12 or 16 even after you are pregnant just to make sure all is ok then you get sent back to the ob/gyn.

OB/GYN's really don't have the experience or training in infertility issues that RE's have.

Re: When you found out you had fertility issues

I only dealt with my RE....they were so much more attentive than any OBGYN for me.

Once I got my BFP...I didn't want to leave the RE and find a new OBGYN...but I had to.

Re: When you found out you had fertility issues

I left my GYN last year when I got pg. I started going to an OB. After my mis, I wasn't happy with the way he handled things as far as me wanting some blood tests run, so I moved on to an RE.

Now, I see my RE and I go back to my original GYN for standard tests that the RE requires. However, she (the GYN) screwed up my last test because apparently she didn't know what it was, so I will be switching GYNs now too.
