Maybe some answers today..UPDATED again with an ANSWER

Im leaving in about 5 minutes to go to my OB for the results of my recurrent m/c panel. I dont know if I will get any answers today or not but at least its a milestone.

Im getting a little nervous; I dont know what Im hoping for here.

I'll update when I get back!!


Update 1/19:

so yesterday I saw my OB and we went over the results of the recurrent m/c panel and the genetic report from the d&c. Everything was normal and sadly I discovered I would have been having a girl

Today I brought my results to Dr. B. Im going to proceed with the immune intolerance testing to see if the problem is that my body is attacking the embryo. I think after that test,should it come back normal, we will just start trying again. I should have the results of that test within 2 weeks then we will just take it from there.

Update 1/20 ANSWER:

So Dr. B called me last night. Apparently the lab ran my immune testing without my consent so now I have my answer.

DH and I are a DQ Alpha match Basically our antigens are so similar that its confusing my body and causing my immune system to attack the embryo.

The treatment is prednisone and IV intralipids. After 2 cycles, when Im ready to start TTC again, this is what I will have to do before I ovulate. Then hopefully Ill get pregnant the first cycle so I dont have to keep repeating.

Im pretty upset. I know it can be so much worse and at least now I have an answer but it just really hurts me to think my own body is doing this to me.

So I guess thats all my updates until March. Hopefully the next update will be a good one!!

Ask your OB to clarify whether "normal female karyotype" is an inconclusive genetic result. My OB did not clarify this with me, just told me the genetics were "normal." It was my RE and the ladies on this board who explained to me that "normal female karyotype" is an inconclusive result, because there is no way of knowing whether your tissue was tested instead of the fetus's... this is a common thing that happens with missed miscarriages. It doesn't necessarily mean the fetus was normal female karyotype... I wish more doctors would explain this to us instead of just assuming we are not capable of understanding test results.

Well I guess the good news is that you have answers. I'm so glad you went to Dr. B b/c you would've never known this! At least there is a plan of attack now!

I'm sure it's unsettling to think that your own body is doing this to you, but I am glad you got an answer, and so happy there is a "plan" for treating it so hopefully you never have to go through this again!

I'm sorry. I know that was not what you were expecting. On a positive note atleast you have answers... and can start taking everything.

You will get pregnant again very soon!!! You did for the previous pregnancies and hopefully again very quickly this time!!

I know it's all pretty upsetting right now, but it will get better. With the right treatment Dr B is giving you...you will go one to have a healthy pregnancy very soon!!!!

*HUGE HUGS* I know it's upsetting that "your body is doing this to you." but think of it this way, with the proper treatment, you are going to "fight back" and make it happen.
If you didn't have all the details and the doctor just said "take these pills and everything would be ok" then I'm sure you would be pleased. I know it's not easy but try not to get caught up in the details. Remember the ultimate goal and now you have the steps to take you there. You are in my thoughts.

I don't know whether to say I'm so sorry, or I'm happy that you now have answers and can start a game plan. I'm sorry that you have to go through this, but without a doubt it will all be worth it in the end, which may not be comforting now to hear, but it will be, I promise!
