Our specialist visit today - maybe a light at the end of the tunnel
We had another appt with the pulmonologist today for EJ.
He is a thriving little boy. He eats (even if it's just jar food). He sleeps. He is developing well.
New stats are 32 inches and 26 Lbs. Although he was 26.4 Lbs a couple of weeks ago (but that could have been anything!).
We still have to do his nebulizer and monitor any wheezing.
Fortunatelly, the Pulmicort is really helping. When we had the other scare with the fever and all the other tests, DS got sick with heavy/hard breathing but seems to have gone through it and not get more complicated. So it seems that the preventive medicine is working.
We have another appt in 3 months. Assuming EJ does not get sick and get worse. The Dr. even mention that if he goes through the winter OK we may even be able to stop the nebulizer next year.
That was such a relief to hear.

I say it all the time, I feel like Pulmicort is a MIRACLE medicine. It does so well for kids with pulminary problems.
I am glad to hear that he is doing well. I hope everything continues to look up!

That's great news!!
Can I ask -- is he on jarred food because of this, or for another reason?

No the jar food is unrelated. I think!!
He was gagging so much that we could not give him solid food. He was a late eater so that could be a reason. He was really sick last year and we could not start him on food (vs milk) until he was 6.5 months. That may have delayed his food. He is doing much better on the gagging. He is just refusing solid food because it's not what he is used to. He mostly eat stage 2 still. Slowly he is getting bananas, apples. It's only a few pieces at the time. It's always baby steps with DS. Nothing can be rushed with him!
