My godmother died today
She was a part of my family two generations before my own grandparents. This couple escaped the Nazis with my griandparents, went to Russia with my grandparents, then Israel and the US. They never had children, so my dad was like thier son and my sister and I their grandchildren.
She was in her mid 90's and her health was failing. It was not a surprise. Its something she wanted for a long time. Her DH passed on last year.
But its still so sad.
