Our next door neighbor's 2 year old died today
We are in shock and so heartbroken - i can't even imagine her parents and family - her tenant just told us. I can't stop crying 
We just found out that the little girl was in the hosiptal for a week with menegitis and it took over her heart- how this could happen and how she contracted this disease is still unbelievable - we just found out she died moments ago..........
Pls keep little Isabella (only 2 yrs old) in your prayers........
Her dad has been in Iraq and has come about every 6 months to see her - so he hasn't been around but her mother is just a doll and has done everything for her little girl. Every time i see them together - they are hugging and kissing and running around. Her dad is a lovely man - its so beautiful to see them together and has cherished every moment with his daughter when he has been here.
I want to do something - i want to say something - is there anything I can do??? I just wish I could bring her back - what could be a nice gesture ? Im at a lose right now - this woman didn't have too much family here - and her husband was overseas........

That's so horrible.
I always thought this disease was so rare, but I've known of 3 people that have died from menegitis.

omg
I agree with being a shoulder to cry on or just an ear to listen since she doesn't have much family around. SOmething to eat would be helpful as well.
What about helping her make arrangements, making phone calls? It must be so hard to be all alone

OMG! That is just horrible! One of the kids in Sag Harbor died on Friday of the same thing. It's just so tragic!!

This is a GREAT idea. One person did this after my son passed and we were so greatful. Even if you are hungry it is hard to pick yourself up and actually cook after this happens!

I'm in a similar situation with my friend's son. A card saying you're thinking about them. Meals are definitely good because, from what I've seen, the last thing people think about is eating.
Actually for the card, you should write something similar to what you posted...
