does anyone know anything about NASCAR or car racing?
Need help for work and I don't undersatnd a word of this! Who does Danica Patrick race for? Is she considered a NASCAR driver? Or does she race for someone else? I am so clueless! Thanks!!

Thank you! So to say she's an IndyCar racer is correct? And that doesn't mean shes a NASCAR driver? What is the difference?

NASCAR is sort of the governing body of stock car racing.
Indy Car or Open Wheel racing is a different genre of auto racing whereby the wheels of the car are not under the fenders, instead they're "open."
Formula One falls under the open wheel category and is considered the top tier in all of auto racing (well, that also depends on who you ask).

I didn't reply to this earlier because it got moved and I didn't realize it.
NASCAR and Indy are sort of like baseball and softball. Yes, you get in really fast cars and drive around a track, but the governing body is different, the cars are different, the rules are different, etc.
In softball and baseball, someone throws a ball, the batter hits it, then runs around the bases. However, the ball is different, the rules are slightly different, the governing bodies are different, etc.
Very few racers race in different types of venues, since it's a much different type of racing.

From my understanding, Danica will NOT be racing in the Sprint Cup Series, but in the minor league of NASCAR which is called the Nationwide Series.
