Anybody ever take Progesterone? I need advice *update*

My doctor told me that as soon as I get a positive on a pregnancy test I should immediately get on Progesterone. Well, a few days before my period was due, I tested and saw a VERY faint line. I decided to hurry and get on it just in case. I've read in the past that it's not dangerous to take it BEFORE being pregnant anyhow since some doctors say to start it right after ovulation. Well... I took it for 3 days and then continued to take a few digital pregnancy tests - all came back negative. So I stopped the progesterone. But now i'm curious what this means. Either:
A) I'm not pregnant at all and the line I originally saw was an evap line (I used an Equate test)
B) I am pregnant and there's just not enough HCG to pick it up.

However - I am now 3 days late, which is NOT normal for me. I'm usually right on time. I hear that progesterone might delay periods. Has anybody experienced that??? I only took it THREE nights and then immediately stopped, so I'm curious how late it would be if that IS the issue (I'm going to pick up some more tests though, just to be sure)

I woke up this morning to AF. Honestly, I'm so glad it came. I just didn't like how late I was and that i didn't seem to be pregnant either. It all just felt wrong. So i guess it WAS an evap line (stupid) and I guess the Progesterone DID make AF come late.

I took progesterone the cycle I got pregnant. However, T started it 2 days after ovulation.

Have you taken another line test? Maybe you could be pregnant, but there is not enough hcg for the digital to pick it up? I have also heard that progesterone can delay your period, but I'm not sure by how long...I only took it for the one cycle and I ended up getting pregnant, so I stayed on it. So I guess the fact that you're late could also be because you took the progesterone. When was the last time you took the progesterone? I think I would take another line test and see what happens.

I hope you get answers soon. I took progesterone but while I was pregnant so I don't know what it does so early on...or why the tests are now coming up negative...I would take another line test in the am with FMU...did you test with FMU?

I have heard progesterone can delay your cycle. DId you see the faint line right away?? Or was it after sometime?

It could be you are just too early to show up on a digital.

yes, it was FMU all times. Since the dr told me to test as early as possible, i started taking HPTs 5 days before expected period. The first 3 I took had no line whatsoever - NEGATIVE. Then the 4th and 5th I took had a very very very faint lines (the kind that you only see under the light and at the perfect angle. lol) but DH saw it too so I knew I wasn't crazy. And then that faint line would grow darker and darker as the day went on. so i wasn't sure if i was just seeing things and the line that got so dark WAY after that 10 min mark was just an evap line (even tho my first 3 didn't do that) OR if I was pregnant. I assumed it was positive. But then I took 2 digitals and both came up negative (that was the day OF my expected period and the day after). I didn't take anymore tests since, but I did go to the store and I got some Early Response line tests so I'll do another in the morning. If AF still does not arrive by then i'll be officially 4 days late which has NEVER happened to me before (except for when I was pregnant of course)

I wonder if I SHOULD just start taking Progesterone right after ovulation like some of you said you did. I don't know. My doctor just said to get on it after I get a positive on a HPT, so I did. But I guess maybe i was wrong in my assumption. I'm off of it now at least, so if that's what is causing the delay, it shouldn't anymore.
