Resume After Being a SAHM
How would you address the employment gap on your resume? So far, I have nothing on my resume, but I note that I have been a stay-at-home mother for the past two years on my cover letter. Recently I saw a resume someone else had written that included a stay-at-home mother line with dates, but I had never heard of doing this before.
After I saw that, I started to wonder if there will be cases when the cover letter and resume are separated or not read well, and if that happens it looks as if I lost my job two years ago.

I put nothing, just left it as it is...so then, can you image how lost for words Ive been when asked "So, what have you been doing for the past 10 years?"....

The other thing you could do is incorporate it into an objective:
Looking to reenter the workforce as.......
people understand, it is a common thing.

ITA. As a recruiter I can say we usually pass on the ones left blank. So some explaination is welcome.

Most that I review leave a gap, then just explain it in person.
