Nursery set-up

I am thinking about the nursery. The babies will be sharing a room. Should the cribs to side-by-side, or across the room from eachother?

We had ours against the wall, end to end.
As they got older they could babble to each other back and forth.
We moved them a foot or so apart when they could stand up.
Luckily, I never had crib jumpers.

Re: Nursery set-up

I have pictures in my album. If the window wasn't in the way they would have been touching. I think it is really important that they are close & have that connection in the beginning.

& yes they do throw things at each other and get out of the crib together.Chat Icon

I am thinking next to eachother....but, that's just because of the size and set-up of our room.

Re: Nursery set-up

What room are you using, Julie? The big room upstairs?
We actually fit both cribs in the small room next to ours if you can believe it. They are right next to each other.
If we do move them upstairs, we will put them on the opposite walls.
Do you have an issue with the room getting super hot in the summer though? That's the reason we haven't put them up there.

Yes, they are going upstairs. I don't want to put Landon up there because of the potential for him to get into trouble. (we have storage closets along both walls and the attic door, plus the extra flight of stairs). Plus I love Landon's room and don't want to change it.
It goes get a bit warmer in the summer, but DH has redone & added a bunch of insulation which helps a lot. We will probably put an A/C in the window for the really hot days.
But since we have the built in closets into the slant I don't want to completely block the doors. I have a lot of stuff stored in there. I'll try to post pics later.

Thats how mine is. We didn't have the room for the dressers and two cribs unless they were next to each other.

Re: Nursery set-up

im starting to set mine up now. they will be across from each other, separated by a window. it would be nice to keep them closer, but it just wont work with the size of the room

Re: Nursery set-up

The room is long and narrow with slanted sides and a few cubby hole doors that I don't want to cover with furniture. I love the look of the 2 cribs next to each other but on a corner. Unfortunately that will not work is this room. They must either be right up next to each other or directly across. I am leaning towards next to each other. Thank you everyone!
