On DD#1 (4 years ago) we bought a changing table and 6 drawer dresser for about $800 at Baby Depot in Burlington Coat Factory. I love it... unfortunately it is discontinued and we found this out by going to buy the hutch and they no longer make it....

Our poor 2nd child is getting hand me down furniture - but actually the desk which we will be using for a changing table was DH's when he was a child, so it is sentimental. We will upgrade in time...

Our crib is a hand me down also that is in perfect condition!

everyones' sets are sooooo nice!!!!
The problem is the room we're using for the nursery is really really large, with two walk in closets, so I know I'm going to need three pieces one being a large armoire or hutch and the sets I've been looking at run over 3K and DH is not a happy camper....Chat Icon He doesn't think we need a armoire when we have ample closet space in the room already....he doesn't realize that I will be taking over those closets shortly Chat Icon

Re: If you don't mind posting, how much did you spend on your nursery set

For DD we got Ragazzi (which has since gone out of business) and spent about $3300. We got a convertible crib, dresser, hutch and chest of drawers (the tall dresser).
We also got a gilder and ottoman from Best chairs and that was $550. We plan for this furniture to be with them as long as they live at home or until they can replace it with their own money which is why we went on the more expensive side and tried not to get anything that was too "baby" if that makes sense.

We're planning to use the nursery furniture for Chat Icon and I am looking for new furniture for DD and had some serious sticker shock this weekend. The stuff I wanted to get was almost $5K Chat Icon Needless to say we're back to the drawing board. Chat Icon

I think when you're looking you have to really think about what you want from your furniture. Long term or short term. No sense to spend a lot if you know you're going to want to replace it.

We bought our set at Sukons. It's by Bonavita and it's the Hudson collection in Classic Cherry. We spent about $2000 including delivery & setup ($110), a wood protection program ($150), and the toddler/adult rails.

We purchased the convertible crib, 5 drawer dresser and combo.

here is the 5 drawer dresser (we bought it in cherry)
