I tried knitting and I was a total failure Chat Icon

scrapbooking. you could to digital or paper scrapbooking or both. It's great if you take a lot of photos.

I'm still just getting started learning about digital scrapbooking but I'm not looking to stop using paper and all the supplies. If you use photoshop already, it will be easy for you and there are some good posts on this board to help you out! I may be looking for something simpler than photoshop, though, b/c I find that I only do digital pages once in a while. Then I forget how to do what I have learned. What I have done so far with digital scrapbooking has been to create 12x12 pages that fit in the same books with my other pages. I just upload my creation to a site that sells 12x12 prints. There seem to be more and more places for that every week. www.scrapbook.com has really good forums.

PS. Most scrapbookers I meet are 1-3 years behind. The only reason I am not is because I don't do my pages in date order. I just do what I feel like doing and then move pages around within the book later.

Re: I need a craft

What do you like to do? What do you like?

Work with your hands?
Do you have patience or do you need instant gratification?
How many hours do you want to spend "learning"?

Possible craft:

- Knitting
- Crochet
- Embroidery
- Sewing
- Beading/Jewerly making (I started taking classes and I love what I have made)
- Digital scrapbooking (you don't need as much space and invest in a lot of tools/supplies)
- Pottery (you can take classes) and later on you can use a place who has a kiln and they just charge you for the use of the kiln)

jewelry making sounds fun, I may look into this Chat Icon

I am more of an instant gratification type of gal, not much patience (maybe that is why knitting did not work for me) Chat Icon Chat Icon

I didn't like knitting, but I love crocheting. There is minimal expense to start and I taught myself by watching videos on you tube. I like that is it portable too.

I do both knitting and crocheting and I find crocheting to be a lot easier. I'm currently making DD a hat Chat Icon

I agree with people who suggested crocheting. I am a knitting addict myself... I don't even know how to crochet... but I've met so many people who hated knitting, couldn't get the hang of it, but took to crocheting immediately.
