I did something stupid.
I had the scheduled NYSTE LAST exam today, but I decided not to go.
I figured it'd be a breeze, but after I did some practice questions, I knew I'd be lost on the math.
I didn't want to do poorly & then retake it again, as I didn't want any record of the first grading to haunt me.
I will get a book and study up for the next exam, but I feel awful..
On my SATS, I did very well on the verbal, but horrible on the math.
I'm so scared. How important is the LAST?

You need the LAST to get teaching certification but you either pass it or fail it, it doesn't matter what your score is!!
It would have been a good idea to look at the practice exam when you first booked it!!

ITA! if i was you i would have just gone being that i was already signed up. Its pass or fail.

Don't be scared. If you just spend a little time looking at the practice exam, and practice up on the skills you find difficult, you will do OK. Honestly, it really isn't that bad. I took it after being out of high school for a very long time. There was so much that I had forgotten, but with just a little practice I did just fine. You will too!

You will be fine! No one ever asks for your grades! To top it off--- my LAST had questions about credit card debt,... so who knows! Good Luck! And.....take a deep breath!

Granted, I took the LAST back in 1995, but I remember the whole thing, even the math, being heavily reading comprehension based. In fact, I think I got a perfect score on that section even though I always struggled so much with it. I bet you will be fine. 
ETA- a district cannot ask for your score- only evidence that you passed, which would be proven via your certificate.
