Re: anxiety with your job
I think it's very common in my field (social work). We are held responsible for so many things our clients do/don't do.
I am so glad I don't work with children. I was actually having this discussion with a co-worker yesterday.

Re: anxiety with your job
YES! I think about it in my sleep There had been times I would cry or throw up in the morning before I'd go in just from the stress of it all.

Re: anxiety with your job
I have found that if I feel like this too much, it's often time to change jobs. Many times it's the environment that is contributing, and not really the field I have chosen, because there will ALWAYS be some really stressful days in social work (well, at most jobs really!).

Re: anxiety with your job
after my meltdown last week i've decided its just not worth it; i dont want an ulcer, and i have enough gray hair (as mentioned on other boards!) for 4 people. the stress is marching across my face!! so i just have to stop it.

Re: anxiety with your job
I know I should be greatful to have a job bit I seriously dread getting up in the morning. O think my boss is mental and no one has been happy since she started last September. I am constantly on edge I bend over backwards bit she doesn't give an inch not a team player at all and we are such a small office its hard not to have interactions with her. I really want to leave

I used to have a boss like that; she got fired. Hang in there!!!! Jobs aren't easy to come by these days.

Re: anxiety with your job
I need to be tied to the Blackberry. Everytime something goes wrong an email comes in, the Blackberry rings and I need to fix it.
Sometimes when I'm really stressed I'll wake up in the middle of the night because I heard it ring - get up, go look at it and there are no new messages. My brain is just so fried that it makes me think I heard the noise and wakes me up from a dead sleep. This happened to me last week. Good thing we're leaving for vacation in a few weeks because I need a break.
That, or during our TV campaign time when stress and pressure is really high I can't get more than 2 hours of sleep in a row. Always up and worried. That starts after I get back from vacation.

I agree and I'm starting to discover that this is where I am again in my life. The stress I'm going through is more about my office environment and rarely about my work in the field.... I hate the stress I am going through right now.....
