Re: Those of you with NYC PBA
I go to American Dental Centers in Commack.
But when I had to have an impacted wisdom tooth removed as well as another tooth next to it -- they said they didn't use any type of gas, just local anesthetic. (Needle.)
I said HELL NO -- and headed to Dr. Greg Panossian in Massapequa, since he's an oral surgeon that takes the PBA coverage.
For a regular dentist, ADA is fine, but if you have to have any type of extraction or what not, I'd go for Dr. Panossian since they put me under and everything for my oral surgery and it was all covered by the PBA.

Re: Those of you with NYC PBA
Thanks so much for your reccommendations. How are the dentists and receptionists there? The one dentist we went to was ok but the receptionists were the most unfriendly people. Ever!

Re: Those of you with NYC PBA
At ADA -- the receptionists are good. I actually went there my entire childhood and when I had braces, then moved out of state as a teenager.
The dentist I went to there was very knowledgeable. I had an abscess in my gums and they took x-rays and just by looking at it he knew about 10 things about me that were all correct. I don't remember his name, but he is either from India or Pakistan.
As for Dr. Panossian -- their office is FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC! Great staff, receptionists, and Dr. Panossian is really nice.
I wish he did general dentistry as well as oral surgery... I could go to him for everything!

Re: Those of you with NYC PBA
I know you said western suffolk, but we have run the gamut of PBA dentists, and the BEST one, by FAR, that we have found is DR. Granati in Patchogue. His office is fantastic, he's great, the place is superclean, and he thinks cops and their families walk on water. We travel from Lindenhurst to Patchogue for them, they are that good.
Dr. Granati & Dr. Fong 100 N. Ocean Ave. Patchogue, NY 631 289 1919

Re: Those of you with NYC PBA
I haven't been there yet, but someone DH works with recommends Dr. Doht in Brentwood, (631) 231-8500. He, his wife and kids go to him. All I can say is be happy that you don't have the SBA's insurance. It totally sucks!! Thankfully my DH is a PO so I can still use the PBA.
Dr. Robert C. Doht, DDS 748 Suffolk Avenue, Brentwood (631) 231-8500?
