my first chemical pregnancy.... questions

this was my first ivf and its a chemical..... emotionally i am pretty upset....

i just got the news yesterday....and now i am wondering what to expect. i knwo dr b will tell me...but i would like to hear it from those who have gone through this.

will my period be worse now? do you feel more hormonal? any thing you can share would be appreciated.

i have had two chemicals. i have PCOS and had both with femara/follistim/ovidrel timed intercourse cycles. i also see dr. b.

my first chemical was like yours - very low beta. i pretty much got AF a few days late. it was slightly heavier but nothing that notable. if i wasnt trying to get pregnant i probably wouldnt have even noticed.

my second chemical my beta was a lot higher and all in all AF came about 12-15 days late. it was extremely heavy and lasted a few days longer than usual.

i was much more emotional the second time. the first time i was a little sad but i thought it was just bad luck so i kinda let it go. but the second one felt like a m/c, i was emotionally distraught for a good 3 weeks and only now, over 5 weeks later, am i starting to feel normal and back to myself again.

are you going to do another IVF right away? for my first chemical i think dr. b would have let me start another cycle right away, although i took time off for work reasons. the second chemical with the beta being much higher, i had to wait a full cycle. i never ovulated (since the m/c, which is somewhat normal for me anyway) and im waiting for dr. b to get back to me today, but i am hoping to be able to get started this week or next. just be prepared in the case that you have to wait a full cycle before starting again. i wasnt prepared for that and it upset me even more at the time even though i know now it was for the best cause i was able to heal a lot emotionally.

sorry you have to go through this is s*cks!! but im sure dr. b will do whatever he can to make sure it doesnt happen again!!

oooh if i have to wait a whole cycle i will lose it........ waiting to hear back from dr b today too for the second beta results......i want to do another ivf right away for sure.

with your first chem..which was timing wise like mine....did you feel pg....? i dont know if its the progesterone and estrogen but i feel soooo achy in my boobs and tired... but its also soooo hot out.....



maybe there are no answers for why i got my chem preg..... i know i have very bad ovarian reserve and fsh..... but no immune issues at all....so... dont get it.

yeah i almost lost it when i found out i had to wait a whole cycle. but it was def better to heal emotionally before jumping back in.

the first one i felt pregnant for like one day. i was sooo tired and kind of hungry. and AF was def late. however it was my first cycle on progesterone so i didnt know what to expect so i wasnt paying too much attention to my symptoms (it how i cope with the 2WW).

if your ovarian reserve/FSH is not good, maybe it was just a bad egg. or maybe your lining wasnt great. either of those two could be the reason for a chemical. its a good sign in the sense that your hubbies sperm and your egg met and started to implant, it just for whatever reason didnt implant.

for me, i have both immune and clotting issues that are associated with PCOS so dr. b is certain that one of those issues is the reason for both chemicals, so we are treating all of it in this upcoming cycle.

I had a CP as well and just had a MC at 5 weeks...not sure if that is considered a chemical or a mc?? Anyway, both times, AF was heavier and longer. No unusual pain at all.

ty ladies...it was indeed very heavy and sorry tmi...clotty..... but also dont know if its bc the whole ivf process took so long too...good news is...right back in the saddle for my new ivf cycle..... tthanks again everyone oxoxoxo jenn
