I purchased an extended warranty thru Squaretrade. It's about half the price as the B&N extended warranty.

I think you have 30 days if you want accidental damage (drops, spills, etc) but 90 days if you want general warranty coverage.
I think you have wifi only nook? If so - it's not listed up there yet. Only the wifi+3g version is. Since the wifi only is cheaper, the warranty price is cheaper. In order to get it, in the dropdown choose 'miscellaneous' and then 'electronic iem' and put in the price of the Nook (149.00) and it will give you the right price.
Use code 'REDHOT' thru the 19th to get 20% off.
When I bought mine I got 3 years with accidental coverage for $20.99. (I had a 30% off coupon.) 20 dollar warranty for 3 years on a 150 dollar device I'll risk. The 70 something bucks that B&N wanted - I just couldn't justify. It's half the price of the device so if it broke I'd just get a new one.
