NYC Teachers- are you NOT entitled to FMLA?
A girl in my childbirth class said she only gets 6 weeks leave in NYC. I thought according to FMLA a company with more than 100 employees you are entitled to 12 weeks of leave? When I say leave I mean leave where you keep your benefits.
Could it just be that the 6 weeks is for disability? I teach on LI- for my leave I don't collect disability; I use the days in my sick bank. I can take up to 12 weeks and still keep my benefits.

6 weeks paid if she has days. We are 100% entitled to FMLA. We also have a thing called SLOAC where you get your benefits for up to 4 months I believe. All of this requires filling out paperwork with payroll secretary.
