If you are on the PTA
How much are you actually expected to volunteer?
I would really like to join to stay involved in DD's school, but with two other children, I'm not sure how much I will be available to volunteer.

ours asks for 3 hours I think? Not sure really. I joined the year before last but I had 2 other children under 5 and was expecting so I did not do anything except go to the meetings sometimes. Last year I was class mom and that took up all my "free" time.

Ours doesn't 'require' anything. The meetings are once a month.. you don't have to go to those if you can't - but that's where decisions and committees happen so if you are interested in being a part of it, going is a good idea.

Ditto. At the 1st PTA meeting of the year, we ask for people to sign up for different functions or even run different events. You can do as little or as much as you would like or are able.
