Completely devestated

So after an early MC in April, I was so excited to receive a BFP in August. Everything was going great, We even were able to see the baby and see at slight flickering of a heart beat at 6W. Well I just came back today from another sonogram (I should be almost 9w) and the baby was still measuring 6W and no heartbeat Chat Icon . I am just completely beside myself. I do not know what do think or what to feel. I cannot believe that I suffered 2 miscarriages. I never would have imagined that ttc our first child would be so hard and so heartbreaking. I have a D & C scheduled for Wednesday. I am just a mess and have no desire to do anything. How am I going to go to work this week (I am a teacher and the new school year has just started) and put a smile on my face?!? How do you ladies get through every day?? Then my OB told me she doesnt want me to start trying again until 3 full cycles, which will put us into the November/December timeframe. December should have been the due date of the first baby we miscarried.

I am sorry for rambling, I am just so completely devestated and do not know what do Chat Icon

you absolutely need to see an RE. you should have immune and blood clotting testing done to determine the cause of the repeat miscarriages so that you can correct the problem and don't have to suffer another one.

You're not rambling at all! It's such a difficult thing to deal with the first time around. You were courageous enough to try again and dealing with it a second time. It feels so unfair... Im so sorry. Best wishes to you and DH! We are all here for you!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thank you all very much for your nice words and hugs! My OB told me they have a specialist inoffice and I am getting immune and blood clotting testing done right after the D & C as well as a whole lot of other blood work. Do you think I should visit a RE specifically or the specialist within my OB office can do the same work?!?!
Small history...I have been trying since February, we got pregnant very quickly (after 2 months) and then had an early MC at 4.5w. Then took 2 cycles off (doctors orders) and tried and got pregnant in July and MC well just now at almost 9w. I was considering seeing a RE bc I have read such great things about most of them on this site, but I was wondering if a RE would even agree to see me since it doenst look like I have problems getting pregnant, I just have problems staying pregnant. Thanks for any thoughts or insights! I really appreciate all of your help during this tough time.

I'm soooo sorry for your loss!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

We just had our 4th miscarriage on Wednesday at 8w5d and the D&C was yesterday.

I'd definitely suggest seeing an RE and possibly a perinatologist. I see Dr. Kofinas in Garden City, and he did a complete immune panel and found immune/clotting issues.

Many many {{hugs}}!!!!

So sorry for your loss. I also work with kids and after my mc in august it was hard to go back to work. I did take two days off, but I had to go back and try to hold it in. the funny thing is i actually found comfort in being around kids. I didn't tell them about the mc of course but I did tell them that i couldn't wait to be a mom some day.
It was cute they all told me why they think i would be a good mom and offered me advice. (like not giving out a bedtime). It really did make me feel better and got me excited enough to want to ttc again insead of being scared.
I had a natural mc so I only have to wait a month.
definately should get testing since it is your second mc but my close friend had 4 mc and now she has 4 healthy kids. The Dr. said she was perfectly healthy and sometimes these things just happen. Not sure if any of this helps... but my prayers are with you and your DH.

Please ramble on some more if it makes you feel better! Chat Icon Maybe going back to work will help take your mind off things. I'm a teacher and I am thankful to be back in the classroom so I have something else to think about other than babies.

I agree with the other ladies. It couldn't hurt to go see an RE. Good luck with everything and my heart goes out to you!

I am sorry for your loss. I am too experiencing my 2nd m/c (with a healthy child in between the 2). Doctors say this just happens with no explanation to a lot of women. I know it is hard to accept as we always want answers and a reason why but sometimes it is what it is.

I hope you are having an ok time back to work and the kids are distracting you. Chat Icon
