Jesss, duh.

Does everything match?

So this is my second pregnancy and were totally shocked when we found out it was twins.

I saved everything from DS (he is only 2). His infant carrier, bouncer, swing, exersaucer, bumbo, etc.

My mother already offered to buy the second crib. My DS's crib is still open stock so we can just order it whenever and have in in a few weeks.

My sister is telling me I'm crazy because I want matching infant carriers and car seats. I don't care about the swing, bouncer, bumbo, etc.

Unfortunately, my infant carrier is only sold as a travel system with the stroller. Clearly, I don't need another single stroller. So I thought I could try to sell the infant carrier on craigs list, and buy 2 new ones. Or at least register for 2 new ones, and see if anyone gets them for me.

I am torn on having a shower too. My mom and best friend insist I have one. They say I deserve it especially if I have at least 1 girl since I only have a son and I need a second of everything. My MIL and FIL both think I should have a shower, and some of DHs extended family has even asked when the shower will be.

The only thing is my BIL is getting married in June. And I know my FSIL shower will be sometime in March. So I would have the baby shower in February but is that too much? Am I stealing thunder?

Sorry this became so long. What do you think? Do you think I am crazy for wanting a few things to match? And if you were me, would you go for the shower?

Re: Does everything match?

I "Wanted " matching things, I have nothing that matches. LOL

I just couldnt afford it. I took every hand me down there was and am gratefult here were a lot!

I have two used infant seats in black and one in grey...I dont care in the end anymore what they look like, I dont think anyone is looking. Too busy shuffling 3 kids in and out of "something" ..LOL

I did have a small sprinkle/shower. Mainly b/c I was having 2 girls and had previously a boy. I registered for small stuff and I received some small stuff. People werent as generous as the 1st shower, Nor did I want them to be. I wanted a small celebration of the babies and was happy to get an outfit or some diapers kwim?

I thinkt heres nothing wrong with having a sprinkle! Chat Icon

I had a small sprinkle at my moms house, just immediate family and my 2 closest friends. I made a small registry and got most fo the things off there plus a lot of clothes, diapers and wipes which were great.

I dont't have matching seats, I have an older DS so I had his seat and then when I found out the babies were Chat Icon and Chat Icon I got a girly looking one. If the twins were my 1st I prob would have gotten matching but it didn't matter so much to me.

Re: Does everything match?

Nothing of mine matches. (except the furniture). The carseats are different, swings are different, bouncy seats different, high chairs different etc. Its really not important to me. I am using a lot of hand-me-downs from my mommy friends and family. I actually have only bought Kylie 1 outfit so far! I have all of my nieces clothes, and my friend who had twin girls gave me all their clothes, and another friend just gave me 6 full garbage bags of clothes (only sizes 3-9 months too)!!
I was going to have a sprinkle, but my uncle got injured the weekend my sister was going to send out invitations. So we decided to postpone it and eventually just cancelled it. I see nothing wrong with sprinkles, enjoy!!!

Re: Does everything match?

I had matching carseats but that was because my friend had twins before I did and she bought those. You can buy a double snap n go and use a variety of seats with that I believe. Their highchairs dont match, swings were different. They have the same infant to toddler rocker, thats about itChat Icon

Re: Does everything match?

I could afford matching stuff but went a more affordable and in my opinion more practical route. I ad some stuff from big sister who is only 13 months older than her twin sisters. So, I had a lot of stuff left over. I supplemented needed baby "stuff" such as cribs, car seats etc with the cheapest yet safest options out there.
