Ok, someone needs to tell to me to stop freaking out about this - UPDATE: Survival
So in a little while, I have to leave to go to this classical Indian dance recital that one of my students is in. She'd e-mailed me over the summer asking if I could come and since I had her last year (and again this year, it turns out), I said yes, of course. And I'm happy I am.
But.
A couple of days ago (I think it was Wednesday), she approached me at the end of class to ask if I would SAY something. 
Of course I said yes. Who could say no? And I know this is one of the sweetest things ever.
But... I don't wannaaaa. I have to speak? In front of people? I've given speeches before, sure, but... I just feel like everyone there is going to be like... who the heck is this woman?
Ok, I need to get ready... please tell me this will be ok (if anyone's online). Ugh... I'll be back later, I guess. (I also don't want to stay for the dinner after, so I'm trying to figure out a way to wiggle my way out of that...)
UPDATE:
Thanks for the encouragement! It did go well (even though I was SHOCKED that her best friend and I were the only people not related to her or connected to the event to speak ...) But it was a nice (LONG -- FOUR hours) afternoon... and now to prepare for tomorrow!

Say something about what an honor it is to watch her grow and mature.
I'm sure you'll be great. Aaaaannd, it's a school night. You have a lot of things to prepare for. But you may end up wanting to stay. Indian food is so good.

That is SO sweet of you to go!! I'm sure she will always remember that!! 
I had a camp counselor come to one of my dance recitals as a kid. I felt so special
