Looking for an adoptive family for a dog
Hey Ladies,
I'm posting here as a favor to my cousin. She and her family have to give up their dog Lady for a variety of unfortunate reasons.
The dog is a mix and they were told she would not be more than 25 pounds but Lady grew to a whopping 50. They live in an apt and their landlord is just not having it anymore. Lady is 3.5 years old, incredibly sweet and lovable and great with kids. My cousin has a 7 year old and 16 month old sons.
The dog is VERY energetic and playful which is another problem because they obviously dont have a yard and their apartment is not very big. They are all heartbroken especially her 7 year old since it is "his" dog. She has tried all the shelters and adoption centers but they all reject Lady because of her size and her energy. Shelters say she will be put to sleep within 48 hours if not adopted.
I'm not one to condone getting rid of a pet because it wasnt what you expected but she really is in a bind. She grew up in a house with 4 small dogs and lots of cats so she's no stranger to having animals but with the size of the dog and her landlord it's just not working and she only has a month or so to get rid of the dog, moving is not an option for her family.
Sorry this is long, but she's just been crying for days trying to figure out how to place Lady with a loving home, if anyone knows of someone please FM me.
I have pictures that I will try to attach here. TIA!

Does the dog get along with others? Especially smaller dogs? She looks so sweet.

They tried and got rejected there because the dog was too playful. But thank you.

Yes, she goes to my aunts house to play with their dogs. She has a doberman, chihuahua, mini pinscher and a schnauzer that recently passed away.

You should call local vet hospitals -- they may be willing to take the dog or put up a poster for you -- the more people that see it, the better! Good luck!!!
