Moving?
I was just watching the film Revolutonary Road and was thinking about how April wanted to move to Paris to start fresh and make a change.
If you could live anywhere in the world and $$$/jobs were not an issue....where would you move to?

Re: Moving?
Hands down, NYC.
I'm sort of in this position right now...My life is changing drastically and I personally understand the need to make the move and start over fresh...
I'm hopeful it will be soon!

Re: Moving?
I'd probably move back to Ireland & buy a house by the water in Co Clare.

Re: Moving?
NYC or San Diego. I haven't been to Europe yet but I'm sure there are places I would love!

Re: Moving?
Italy. Studied there in college, lived in Florence. I am undecided if I would want to live in the North or South though. I love both.

Re: Moving?
When I saw this movie, my heart broke.
I used to live in Europe and I knew that marrying DH would mean pretty much the end of the thought of moving back..I hope that one day we could at least travel to my heart (germany) orto where I actually have a place (florence).
I literally could feel her pain. Its so weird. wow. I never said that.

I know exactly what you mean.
My husband and I do travel extensively and would consider moving overseas.... but that feeling of her life ending. The life she dreamed of. It KILLED me.

Re: Moving?
Oh I'm going to cry. That is how I feel!!! I mean..he is saying to me he won't go on trips with kids. Like little ones. I have family that would take kids anyplace. I want to be that family. This feeling like hi I live on Long Island, in the 'burbs, see everyone from HS..THAT IS NOT how I wanted my life to be, granted my house is awesome but I want to have my cake and eat it too. I grew up surrounded by culture and wow, I can't even put it into words...I just want to know that I can live my life with both.

Re: Moving?
That movie was emotionally draining. It really breaks your heart.
As for the question, DH and I would move to London. I loved every second that we spent there and I like how accessible it would be to the rest of Europe.
It was the first time that we were both incredibly sad to leave a destination on our vacation. I think we both contemplated "what if we just didn't go home?"

Re: Moving?
Edited because I couldn't make up my mind...LOL!
Initial response: Pembroke PInes, FL to live near my BFF and goddaughter.
Second thought: my Dad's house in Binghamton
Third - in the fantasy in my head - Ireland or southern Germany.

Re: Moving?
I honestly don't know.
Every couple of years, I get an insane itch to leave NYC. And then I travel somewhere - anywhere - and realize that I don't think there are very many places where I could easily exist as a permanent resident.
There's no place like NYC; it's my home, born and raised. The only other city that I've visited that comes close to me wanting to live there is Seattle, and I visited almost ten years ago, so I'd have to revisit it entirely, as my 19-year-old self is different from my 29-year-old self.

Re: Moving?
I've always lived in NY but both my BF and I have always wanted to live in Manhattan. If not Manhattan, then I would say Hawaii!

Re: Moving?
I could never just pick one place. I would have to move several times over...
La Jolla, Sardinia, Melbourne, Barcelona, one of the Carribbean islands, Shelter Island, NYC
I'd want to disappear everywhere for a while.

Re: Moving?
I was working on moving to Boston when I met DH....but now, I guess it would be London (where I almost moved after college), Italy or maybe out west like Colorado or Lake Tahoe.

Re: Moving?
I never saw the movie but to answer the question:
Realistically - NYC but that could and hopefully will be happening very soon as I get to start all over with recent changes in my life.
Other than that Rome.

Re: Moving?
If I could move ANYwhere...it'd be Bora Bora. Open up a tourist shop, wake up on the beach every day...I'd love it.
