Need a lawyer who collects .... debt collector?
I won a law suit against my former boss. In said law suit I have been awarded a sizable amount plus expenses and interest. He has ignored the judgement and didn't even show up for the hearing.
I need to collect from him and don't know how to do it. I asked my lawyer to recommend someone buthe never even replied.
I know a lien has to be put against his bank account(s) and properties, but I have no idea how to do this. Any suggestions??

Where was the judgment? In Suffolk, you need to get a transcript of judgment and then take it to the sheriff's office for execution. I won a judgment against the only former client that I ever had to sue. I considered hiring a collections lawyer and there are many who are glad to do this type of work. In the end I got paid without going to the sheriff. IMHO, if you were represented in the suit, that lawyer should still be helping you.

Apparently he is a divorce lawyer (which I didn't know when I retained him) and says he doesn't do this stuff....
And the person I won the judgement against is in Florida...

What was the venue of the suit? Was it here or in Florida? Start with the sheriff's office where the person resides. Be ready to make several phone calls. The person may try to vacate the judgment but take it one step at a time. There are a lot of collection firms and you can always put it in their hands if you want to. If you have taken it this far, you may as well do what you can to collect.
